Our Board
Lisa Lynch, President
Lisa Lynch is a member of the Irvington Tennis Club where she has captained many a USTA and City League team. She has served on the GPTC board for more than ten years.
Barb Farmer, Vice President
Barbara Farmer recently retired as the General Manager of The Irvington Club after 21 years of service. She’s also served on the GPTC board for almost 20 years. She participates in several leagues loves to support tennis in any way possible. She is also a volunteer for the Oregon Humane Society, which is a new passion!
Anni Miller, Director
Anni Miller, is one of 3 women International MasterTennis Professionals, a Speaker for Wilson National Speakers Bureau, and a USPTA Hall of Fame inductee. Anni is 5 Time USPTA National High School Coach of the Year, and a USA High School Coach of the Year during her 28 year coaching career at multi year State Champions, Lakeridge High School. During that time she was the Director of Tennis for Lake Oswego Tennis Center, after being Multnomah Athletic Club’s 11 year Director of Tennis. Serving on the GPTC Board as a 30 plus year member keeps her involved in developing the next gens of tennis while she travels the world as the Chairwoman of the WTCA coordinating conferences at the Grand Slams. Spare time, playing tennis with her adult children and grands, or outrigger canoeing in Maui.
Monika Kowalewski, Director
Having played collegiate and professional tennis, and is active in league play, tennis is her true passion. Two years ago, accepted the position of Tennis Supervisor at the Portland Tennis Center where we continue to offer the sport to the public. Greatest pleasure is sharing the sport with others.
Kira Dennison-Capen, Director
Coming back to tennis after a twenty-four year hiatus has been one of the biggest pleasures of Kira’s adult life. She emphatically welcomes the chance to give back to the sport she loves, by contributing as a member of the Greater Portland Tennis Council. Kira’s background as a business owner has provided her with a broad set of skills in marketing, sales, management and analytics. She is excited by the opportunity to work on fundraising, especially with regard to the GPTC’s child-focused initiatives. Raising two little nippers of her own, she is thrilled to introduce other little ones to the physical, social and mental benefits of tennis.
John Block
John Block has been the owner at Players PDX in NE Portland since 2022. John grew up playing the greater Portland area as a kid and then enjoyed a 17 year teaching career. Working in various clubs, including Portland Tennis Center, St Johns Racquet Center where he was the Director of Tennis for 5 years, Vancouver Tennis Center and West Hills Racquet and Fitness club. John’s excited for an opportunity to give back to the Greater Portland Tennis Community with a roll with the GPTC!
Tiffani da Cunha
Tiffani rediscovered her love for tennis as an adult and has since become deeply passionate about creating inclusive opportunities to learn and enjoy the sport. Tiffani serves as the Head Girls’ Tennis Coach at Grant High School and actively coaches at the Portland Tennis Center. She finds immense joy and grounding in the game, believing tennis offers invaluable life lessons. Driven by a commitment to break down traditional norms in tennis, Tiffani strives to ensure that everyone who wishes to engage with the sport has access to a welcoming and supportive community. With a background in finance and a desire to give back, Tiffani brings both expertise and enthusiasm to her role as Treasurer of the Greater Portland Tennis Council.
Jason King
Jason has had a lifelong passion for tennis that has continued to grow after moving to Portland and becoming involved in its tennis community. As his kids have become involved in the sport he’s been involved in supporting their growth and other youth in the area. He’s been applying his background in digital and marketing to help support the Greater Portland Tennis Council in its mission of making tennis accessible to all.
